Tracey Turner is the CEO and Founder of Turner Development (or TDL), a fast-rising construction / real estate development company in Washington D.C. Metro Area.
TDL has earned recognition for large and complex projects, fostering innovation, embracing emerging technologies, and making a difference for our clients, employees and community. We offer our clients the accessibility and support of a firm with the stability and resources afforded to them with our numerous partners.
Our History
In February 2016, focused on TDL’s core values of quality, integrity and customer service, Tracey launched Turner Development with the vision to provide valuable services to clients, build partnerships in the community, and deliver affordable housing within the District of Columbia. Born and raised in South Carolina, Tracey has witnessed first-hand the transition of the small-town south to the thriving fast-paced city of Washington D.C.
TDL first started as a simple fix and flips within the District of Columbia in 2010 and eventually formed an LLC in 2016 for general construction, which allowed TDL to begin taking on larger projects for hire and obtaining federal contracts that forced the company to refine its processes and offer an increasingly diverse set of services.
Before starting TDL, Tracey worked on numerous high-profile projects in the private and public sectors; where he gained experience in project and resource management, costing analytics, as well as design and drafting, all which has helped him to deliver multi-million-dollar projects ahead of schedule, superseding to his clients’ expectations and overall satisfaction.
Our Values
Tracey’s persistence on quality of service, hard work, and responsiveness to his client needs remains the company credo and has led to its success in a competitive industry. Throughout the first years of development, TDL was faced with many obstacles, including but not limited to, increased competition, retaining capital and obtaining necessary resources to meet the requirements for constant growth. However, using the principles of lean construction, TDL implemented innovated ways to minimize waste and maximize the use of time, labor, and materials. TDL’s commitment to quality and on-time completion has been integral to its success.
Turner Development has risen to meet its challenges and looks forward to a future bright with possibilities and endeavors. With only 7 years under its belt, TDL has acquired more than $25+ million in completed and “in-flight” progressive construction projects – a true testament of small business growth being part of how much TDL has changed over the years!
